Multilayer Packaging (MLP).

Multilayer Packaging (MLP) is packaging composed of multiple materials bonded together, challenging to recycle but often targeted in EPR. MLP is commonly used in food packaging, where layers of plastic, aluminum, and paper provide shelf life and durability. Due to its complex composition, specialized processes are needed for recycling, making it a focus for eco-design improvements and extended producer responsibility obligations.
